ADD intends to operate in a variety of positive and supportive ways; from providing one to one advisory and mentoring services to responding when critical issues arise within the industries that require advocacy or other appropriate action.
In addition to our work with individuals, we also partner with key music and creative industry organisations to support them in ensuring that their staff from diverse backgrounds get everything they need in order to flourish and progress within their chosen profession. We work with companies to develop bespoke packages which not only help to meet the organisation’s EDI needs and provide advocacy for their staff but also support the wider industry to evolve in a more equal and equitable direction.
“The feedback has been really good, probably some of the best we have had from an external speaker session. I think the dynamo between the four panellists just worked really well.”
Kate Reilly – Director of People and Organisational Development, PPL.
There Are A Number Of Ways We Can Help
Individual Support:
Each person’s journey will be different, and support could include mentoring, and may also include signposting to other services such as legal or HR advice, life coaching or counselling. We want to meet you where you are and offer the most suitable advice and support to get you to where you want to be. Sessions will usually be capped at 3 per person after a review has been carried out.
Organisational Support:
Bespoke packages to meet your organisations specific needs or challenges. Here are three examples:
Tailor-made mentoring packages
- Mentoring for employees with experienced mentors from diverse communities within the music and creative industries.
- Packages will include a specific number of participants, who will attend individual or group mentoring sessions. We will work closely with you and support your HR and Wellness team to identify the most suitable support for each candidate.
Lived Experience Panel
- An informal panel and Q&A with up to 4 ADD board/advisory board members who will speak to the black experience of working within the music / creative industry. This can be tailored for the wider organisational audience or for more specific groups of management and executive teams with the option to dig deeper into specific subjects if required.
- Each panel will be unique depending on which of our lifelong experts are taking part, and depending on the people/focus in the room.
- Engaging an ADD lived experience panel should help your organisation and its executive team to identify areas for change and potential actions that can be put in place.
Wellness Workshops
- These workshops will be held by a professional Psychotherapist & Trainer well versed in the nuances of EDI, mental health and the music industry.
- These workshops could cover any number of areas with potential areas of focus including; EDI Fatigue, Identity and Expectations, Burnout and Radical Self Care.
ADD will provide a safe, confidential space for the airing and anonymous logging of concerns and difficulties, which may also become the subject of further research and/or analysis.
